Fall 2022 Opening on Wed. Sept 14!!
Anabel’s Grocery is opening in just 1 WEEK on Wednesday September 14 and we hope you’re just excited as we are! This semester’s hours are as follows:
Wednesday - Thursday: 2 - 7 pm
Friday: 12 - 7 pm
Saturday: 10 am - 1 pm
Mark your calendars because we will be stocking a bunch of fresh and local produce this semester! We cannot wait to see all of you in store!
North Campus Pop Up THIS Friday from 1-3 pm!
We are having a bountiful, pre-opening pop-up at RPCC on a north campus! This Friday, 1-3, right outside of Bear Necessities. Stop by for some fresh sweet corn from Ed (the Ithaca corn man!), lots of pantry snacks, coconut flakes, seeds, and other yummy, nutritious goodies. We will be giving out free stickers and food items as well!
Anti-Racism Action Fund Producers Spotlight!
This week we’d like to highlight our student food producers who donate produce and honey which we sell to support the anti-racism action fund in partnership with C4BL. If you are a student organization or group seeking funding for projects or events that will create a more just campus, please apply for the fund here!
Dilmun Hill
Dilmun Hill is Cornell’s student-run organic farm! Check them out on your way to East Hill Plaza and go to their farm stand at Mann library Fridays 12-2:30 or join for U-pick days Sundays 1-4 pm!
Hydroponics Club
The Cornell Hydroponics Club aims to bring together students with a passion for advancing agricultural technology through hydroponics (growing without soil). Check them out on Instagram @cornellhydroponicsclub or email cornellhydroponics@gmail.com for more information.
Bee Club
The Bee Club at Cornell aims to educate Cornell students and Ithaca community members about bees and beekeeping through hands-on, experiential learning and group collaboration. Check out their website for more information and look out for their honey at Anabel’s!
Compost Club
Compost club, a student club dedicated to supporting all composting on campus — individual and institutional — with the goal of making compost universal at Cornell, will be sponsoring an in store compost location and also has many ways to get involved! Buy produce at Anabel’s then return any food scraps the next week (ohh ahh circular!).
Sustainability GooseChase: Cornell Scavenger Hunt
Join Cornell's annual sustainability scavenger hunt and complete sustainability missions across campus to earn points & win prizes. It has already started, but it’s not too late to join now!!
Who will win?
All Cornell students & employees can participate from September 1 to September 15, 2022. Prizes will be awarded to the top four finishers, as well as four randomly selected participants.
Prizes
Grand prize for 1st place: Lectric E-bike ($800)
2nd place: Membership to Cornell Fitness Centers ($165)
3rd & 4th place: Cornell Store gift cards ($50 each)
All participants will be entered into four random drawings to receive a Learn to Climb pass ($35 each) from Cornell Outdoor Education
Top scoring employee will win a Wellness Recreation Membership ($175), courtesy of the Cornell Wellness Program
How to participate
1. Download the GooseChase App for free on any mobile device.
2. Use code YL8643 or search for "Sustainability GooseChase"
3. Create a username & include your building name if you live on-campus, e.g. Morrison-EzraCornell.
4. Complete missions throughout the competition period, 9/1 - 9/15. The more missions you complete, the higher your score. Stay up to date during the competition by following Sustainable Cornell on social media.
Note: To be eligible to win prizes, you must successfully complete missions as described. Once the competition ends on 9/15 at 12:00pm, if there's a tie between top competitors, prize winners will be randomly selected amongst those who have tied.
