As we enter finals season, Anabel’s Grocery wants to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle and manage your stress with great food and study options. Take a look at a list of our favorite offerings over the next couple of weeks:
We have pre-packaged bags of healthy snacks (aka roasted and salted cashews and peanuts) for you to pick up on your way to a study session
KOMBUCHA IS BACK! Grab a cup as a sweet little treat to reward yourself for all of your hard work
Gimme! Coffee is here, so make sure to pick up some much-needed caffeine
Right next door to Anabel’s Grocery is Durland Alternative Library which is a great study spot to check out if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the typical Cornell libraries! (P.S. You’ll also be right next to all of the aforementioned goodies all-day)
Keeping Up with AEM 3385!
Last week, our class had the pleasure of listening to two very special guest speakers fighting the injustices ingrained in Ithaca’s food systems: Liz Karabinakis from Healthy Food for All (HFFA) and Dee Baptist from Fort Baptists Farms!
Just like Anabel’s, HFFA is a project of CTA and helps the less fortunate in Tompkins County get healthy, locally-grown produce for their households while ensuring farmers are adequately compensated. By creating a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) system, farmers sell shares to low-income households, and HFFA subsidizes any gap between the farmer’s price and the household’s ability to pay. Fort Baptists Farms is a participant in HFFA’s CSA shares system and as a Black, immigrant, and woman-owned farm, it was inspiring to hear about Dee’s journey to ownership and insights into agriculture.
Produce of the Week!
Here are the much-anticipated produce highlights!
Tasty Tuscan Kale and Thyme!
Excellent Eggplants!
Gleaming Red and Green Grapes!
Compelling Carrots and Cucumbers!
Spectacular Spinach and Sage!
And much more, so make sure to stop in the store!
See you all in Anabel’s Grocery this week! We hope your final weeks of classes, projects, and exams are going swimmingly :)
