Hey everyone! Hope you are all feeling well after yesterday’s scare. Anabel’s will be open this week at our same store hours Wednesday & Thursday 2-6PM and Fridays from 12-6PM. Come visit us then for some goodies and take a break from your day!

New Produce:
Check out all the new produce we’ll have in the store! This week, we’re getting buttercup squash, broccolini, and sage--all great fall flavors. Sage is especially great for roasting fall veg, with any meat, and in soups. Like rosemary, it smells very warm, but tastes a bit more fresh and light. We’re also getting greenhouse-grown tomatoes, koginut squash bred by 7seeds at Cornell (a cross between a kabocha and a butternut) and we’ll have some really fun specialty items too! Heirloom cranberry beans, apple butter, szechuan chili oil, mustard, san marzano tomatoes… the list goes on! Come check it out this week!
Recipe Corner:
We apologize for having to cancel Pumpkin to Pie with the Food Science Club on Sunday. We hope all are safe and we may try to reschedule. In the meantime, here’s the recipe :)
Additionally, check out our newest blog post about kimchi!

“Gather” Screening:
The collab-edu team will be screening “Gather” on November 12th around 7:30PM! Come watch this hour long documentary that illustrates Native Americans’ struggle to reclaim their food system through food sovereignty. Location is TBD but likely west campus! Here is a link to the trailer and here for a google form to be updated on the location! Should be lots of fun!
Anabel’s Food Drive!
We are planning a food drive to take place in Anabel’s over the course of November, culminating right before Thanksgiving break! Since Thanksgiving is a holiday centered around celebrating food with family and friends, we want to help those who may be facing food insecurity this holiday season. A box will be kept in Anabel’s for people to drop off their donations, and all collections will be donated to Friendship Donations Network, a local hunger relief organization. Food items that FDN prefers include peanut butter, granola bars, cereal (low in sugar), kid-friendly healthy snacks, nuts, beans, lentils, brown rice, raisins and other dried fruit, pasta, crackers, and canned fruits and vegetables :)
