Product Highlight!
Fresh mangos will be in stock this week!! Come in early as they are sure to go fast.
We also have some new varieties of apples coming in stock this week! Snapdragon, Arkansas Black, Jonathan, and Ruby Mac apples will be available.
Snapdragon: These apples are very sweet with hints of vanilla and cinnamon spice flavor. They are perfect for eating fresh and are extra juicy!
Arkansas Black: These apples are recognized by their dark color. They are on the tart side, and develop a warm vanilla spice profile the longer they rest after being picked. They are better for baking due to their dense flesh and tart taste.
Jonathan: These apples are sweet and tart! They have a thin skin which makes them good for eating. If you enjoy an apple on the tart side this is the snack for you!
Ruby Mac: This apple is strikingly red. It is juicy, crisp, and firm. It is good for eating fresh if you like a balanced sweet and tart apple!
The Spicelight!
The winner this week isssssss…
Turmeric!
This powder comes from the ginger root family. It is known to have anti inflammatory properties due to the compound curcumin being present in it. Turmeric has a bold, earthy flavor used in Southeast Asian cuisine. It is typically mixed with sweeter spices that help to balance the flavor. People do enjoy having turmeric drinks as well! Turmeric tea is a warm drink you can make by steeping turmeric, ginger, black pepper corns, and ghee ( can be substituted for extra virgin olive oil) in boiling water. It is commonly called Golden Tea. You can also add other spices to it such as cinnamon, cloves, and cardamon. People also add honey for some sweetness!
Here is a recipe for Golden Tea!
