anabelsgrocery.substack.com

Hi friends,

We hope you enjoyed the sunny weather this weekend!

Welcome back from Fall Break! Our store will be stocked full of fresh herbs, including purple + garden sage, cilantro, rosemary, and thai mint! We're getting a large quantity of pie pumpkins and honeynut squash which are delicious roasted! Also be on the lookout for the following products:

  • Halloween Challah Bread from Cornell Bread Club 🍞

  • More of Via's Cookies 🍪

  • Broccoli and Bok Choy from Stick & Stone Farms

  • Arugula, Kale, and Spring mix from Plowbreak Farms!

If there's a local supplier you'd love to see work with us, let one of us on shift know!

All in For Anabel’s

Don’t forget to register for All in For Anabel’s on November 5th! We are partnering with two Hotel Administration classes to raise money for Anabel’s. This is a great opportunity to support Anabel’s mission and raise money to ensure our prices are as low as possible for students.

🍁When: Saturday, November 5th from 4-6 pm

🍁Where: Terrace Restaurant in Statler Hall

🍁What: Come join us and take part in reducing food insecurity on Cornell’s campus by helping raise money for Anabel’s grocery, a nonprofit organization open to students. This event will have food and beverage offerings as well as a silent auction and raffle!

Register here and share with peers and friends!

Food Justice Corner: Stick & Stone Farm

Check out our blog post about the Stick and Stone Farm. Last week, students toured the farm and discussed community-oriented farming practices with the founders. Learn about their community-supported agriculture program, which allows them to provide fresh local produce and bring consumers closer to their food.

Recipe of the Week: Cinnamon Hot Chocolate!

Cozy weather is here! Visit the cozy corner in Anabel’s for $1 hot cocoa kits. Try our cinnamon hot chocolate recipe for a warming mug of joy - all ingredients are available at Anabel’s! 🍫☕️
