Our New Reusable Container Policy
In line with our efforts to limit plastic and paper waste at Anabel’s, we are implementing charges for our packaging products starting this week:
Half egg carton: $0.40
=
Whole egg carton: $0.75
Kombucha cups: $0.75
Small plastic containers: $0.50
Medium plastic containers: $0.75
Large plastic containers: $0.99
Faire re-zip bags: $2.75
Reusable straws: $2.50
Paper grocery bags: $0.50
Blue cloth grocery bags: $0.50 (the price will be raised next week, so come grab one this week!)
However, if you bring your own egg carton, reusable kombucha cup, container, or shopping bag, we will not charge you for it! We only ask that you mass your reusable containers on our store’s scale before filling them up.
Or, if you purchase one of our plastic containers, the student working at the register will mark it with a sharpie. You can then bring those same containers (or any reusable container of your choice) back in the future and will not be charged for them!
This semester and beyond, we hope to see more customers bring their own containers, egg cartons, and other reusable items to support our work towards a more environmentally-sound food system! As always, let us know if you have any questions :)
The entire Anabel’s team is excited to be pursing our mission of providing affordable, fresh, and nutritious food in order to better the food system for all. We hope to see you all in store :)
